Green leaves can be harvested at 35 days, and round roots with deep golden interior and sweet flavour in 60 days. Seeds can be sown 5 cm (2 in) apart and 1.25 cm (1/2in) deep as soon as the soil can be worked, and then every couple of weeks until mid-July. Seeds germinate in 4 - 20 days at a soil temperature of 7° - 21°C (45° - 70°F). An excellent beet for pickling or can be stored at 0° - 4°C for up to 6 months.
